Laboratory Management

Australian scientists need to build a critical mass and develop workflow technologies and practices that link geographically dispersed groups. This will enhance collaboration in areas of niche strength such as agrifoods biotechnology, stem cell research, synchrotron-based research and advanced clinical trials. It can be achieved by combining internet-based collaborative environments and grid computing, collectively known as eScience, which in turn will underpin the enhanced data handling and mining methods.
VeRSI will:
- evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies for the management of laboratory data, such as eNotebooks
- design and develop an interface for the management of a laboratory by a group head
- develop an environment for collaborative research
